T06.2 Roadmaps for Peace

Roadmaps for Peace

The project promotes comprehensive sustainable rural development that contributes to dignified living, institutional strengthening, and peace.

Implementation period
From 18/Apr/2017 To 30/Jun/2021

General Description

The project creates conditions for the region’s transit, in the midst of the post-conflict, towards the construction of a stable and lasting peace through strengthening local economies. This measure supports local economic development of chains such as fruit and vegetable, dairy, artisanal, and tourism. Its actions are aimed at protecting the region and its water resources, building relevant educational models that include young people, and are coordinated with local development, and promoting governance for peaceful coexistence with a gender perspective.

The project is executed by the Valle del Cauca Financial Development Institute (INFIVALLE) and uses the “Leader Approach” with local development based on accessible and decentralized management of investments and the region.

Contribution to the Peace Accourds

The project contributes to point 1 of the Agreement by implementing development programs with regional focus, with the participation of civil society and local and departmental public sectors, based on regional actors’ needs, proposals, organizational structures, and experiences. The actions in the IETAS are integrated with the agro-environmental component, supporting economic educational projects that include capacity building, entrepreneurship, and environmental protection.

Objectives and Results

The project has four specific results.
