General Description
The Fabric project, financed by the European Fund for Peace and implemented by ForumCiv, We Effect, and Fundación Paz y Reconciliación (PARES), in agreement with Social Economies of the Common-ECOMUN- and the Critical Studies of Political Transitions Program-PECT- main objective is that: “the communities affected by the armed conflict have successful reintegration processes that contribute to the prevalence of peace, local development, and the collective construction of the region, restoring peaceful coexistence in Cauca, Putumayo, Arauca, and Tolima.”
To fulfill the main objective, the project designed an action plan based on:
● Creating spaces for dialogue to restore peaceful coexistence and promote reconciliation. ● Strengthening the local organizational fabric for reincorporation and reconciliation (TOLR) in its organizational, technical, associative, and cooperative capacities for local development, regional collective construction, with emphasis on women. ● Creating agreements and synergies for implementing local community reintegration plans and the reincorporation roadmap. |
Contribution to the Peace Accourds
The Fabric project contributes to the implementation of the Final Peace Agreement in: 1. Methodological strengthening and implementing actions that promote coexistence and guarantees non-repetition in Putumayo, Tolima, Arauca, and Cauca. 2. Strengthening community reincorporation as the project: I) administratively and financially strengthens 13 cooperatives in the four departments where the project operates. III) It promotes eight productive projects through financial support to third parties. III) Supports the implementation of gender, cooperativism, social solidarity economy, and agroecology approaches. 3. Advocacy plans to promote reincorporated population actions in the four departments where the project operates. 4. Support for constructing alternative forms of communication for the reincorporated population and the surrounding communities. |
Objectives and Results
Among the main objectives and results are: ● Reincorporated men and women, and communities surrounding the ETCR, create spaces for dialogue to restore peaceful coexistence and promote reconciliation. ● Reincorporated men and women, and communities surrounding ETCRs, create synergies and agreements for the successful implementation of PLRCs, PNRs, and local development. ● Implementation of local spaces for coexistence, reconciliation, and reincorporation. ● Implementation of Comprehensive Organizational Strengthening Plans (PIFO) and Local Community Reincorporation Plans (PLRC). ● Advocacy and communication actions that allow cooperatives and associations to promote dialogue agendas at the local, departmental, and national levels. |
